Super Ubie Land in June 2013 Pure Nintendo Magazine

PureNintendoMag_SuperUbieLand

I am very excited to see Super Ubie Land in the latest issue of Pure Nintendo magazine! The amazing part is that it’s surrounded by characters that I’ve grew up playing (Donkey Kong, Mario, Sonic)! I am at a loss of words. It’s really cool to see. I cannot wait to read this issue and check out the Super Ubie Land Preview!

Super Ubie Land – Updated Art!

This is my second game ever working on independently (Up Up Ubi being the first) and I must say, this has been a great learning experience thus far. A ton of work has gone into creating the game (especially since I’m doing the art and most of the programming solo). I  do feel growth in my understanding of game mechanics, art, and game coding logic. Thanks guys for supporting this project and allowing us the resources to complete it! I am really trying to bring out more color into the game and create the feeling of Ubie being in a world, and not something flat and… well… to be blunt, boring.

I hope you guys are enjoying the way the game is turning out thus far. I am putting my all into this!

Getting Popular! Right?

But we have been getting a lot of support from game journalists.
There’s been articles everywhere about Super Ubie Land. Oh, you must be wondering why I’m spelling it “Super UbiE Land” with an “E?” That’s because we had a discussion with Nintendo and they felt it would be best if we were to ask Ubisoft about using the word “Ubi” in our title. This sparked a ton of articles wondering if we were disputing and going at eachother’s throats over the name. That definitely wasn’t the case, we were just making sure everything would be cool. Ubisoft decided they wanted us to change the name.

and there are many, many more. Just google it if you’d like.
But we ended up agreeing to change the name and we all agreed with “Super Ubie Land.”

XBOX ONE REVEAL

recently, Microsoft had revealed the Xbox One. I had opinions about it just like everyone else has, I’m sure. But it was cool to have been asked my opinion from the Jace Hall Show.

MAJOR Update!

I have negelected the site for a while due to working on the game and also attending a ton of events, doing many many interviews, and more.

SXSW Interactive Game On Austin!

We were given a booth at the SXSW gaming convention and it was a blast. We met so many people and best of all, the Notion Games crew met one another for the first time in person!

The Super Ubie Land Booth

Afterwards, our Kickstarter was successful! So I have upgraded some of the equipment in the studio so now we are able to create voice overs in-house and a multitude of other things. We truly appreciate everyone’s support and I am working as hard as I can to bring you the best game I possibly can!

NINTENDO FORCE

Super Ubi Land was mentioned in issue 2 of Nintendo Force magazine. It was amazing to be able to see a project we are working hard on be included in a game magazine!

Goal reached! Super Ubi Land Demo! First Piano Cover! and more!

The $5,000 goal has been reached! This will greatly help us with development and I will be heading to Dexter’s Laboratory to figure out the very best way to utilize the funds in order to make the most it! I’d really like to thank everyone who believes in this project and believes in what my team can produce. This is just the beginning. We plan to make multiple games (for the Wii U, PC/Mac, and whatever other consoles/devices we possibly can), with each game give it our all and applying what he have learned from previous projects! We literally couldn’t have gotten this far without your support!

I’d like to also note that we have received our very first piano cover for Super Ubi Land’s main theme by Zackery Wilson! Check it out:

We hope to get musicians to make more covers for Super Ubi Land’s music. Calum Bowen is currently writing out each song in piano sheet form and backers will receive the sheets after the kickstarter is finished.

SUPER UBI LAND DEMO UPDATE:
I am still tweaking and working on the SUL demo. I am hoping to have it complete and uploaded by tomorrow! If there are any youtubers out there, I’d definitely would love to see videos of you playing the demo and giving us your feedback so that we may improve the game and make the best we can!

We still have 10 days to go with the kickstarter! We hope to be able to hit our stretch goals for things like obtaining a mac mini to test Super Ubi Land on for Mac users, adding additional content (levels, unlockable character(s), and more).

Please check out our Steam Greenlight page and vote for us!
